Sometimes the work of which you're proudest, remains on the demo shelf. Here's one such example of Dan's work.
Dan's first Hollywood hire, a lengthy show opener for Discovery Channel's Josh Gates Tonight, broadcast around the world.
Over 3 decades, Dan Akers has directed well over 100 of Britain's best-loved names from Joanna Lumley, John Hurt and Alison Steadman, to Rob Brydon, Russell Tovey and Andrew Scott. Today, he directs himself performing other people's scripts and sometime those other people direct him. Once recorded, production begins. Dan's as passionate about production now as he was 30 years ago.

From audiobooks and ads to e‑learning, explainers and public transit messaging, Dan Akers has voiced scripts across every available platform. He also makes his own showreel videos such as this one which was produced back in 2023. It's a fast-paced montage of some of Dan's proudest voiceover moments, featuring a logo designed and animated by Dan along with titles, credits and lower-thirds. Editorially, he planned the running order of the showreel. If you’re a voice artist, performer, broadcaster or a corporate client, Danmade Studios can assemble your footage in the most effective order, with animated logos, lower‑thirds, titles, and credits. In 2024, 50 staff from telcos worldwide were filmed on their mobile devices pitching their TM Forum Catalyst project. Low-quality audio was painstakingly remastered and music was added to all 50 videos, with every track mixed and cut to the visuals. Hundreds of stock clips were auditioned and thousands of subtitles manually-encoded. Titles, captions, slides and more (motion graphics from the year before) were re-created to pixel-perfection. 50 filming dates, a handful of re-takes and only 1 remake. Documents written, training given, spreadsheets updated, a QR code and summary for every submission, and with the client's permission, they were all live by the first week of June. 50 videos in 2 months, all made by just 1 producer: Dan Akers.
A spin on "The Doctor Donna" (fans will get the reference) "The Doctor Delia" is Dan Akers' latest arrangement of Ron Grainer's timeless sci-fi theme, and showcases Dan's ability to rearrange an existing piece of music, compose additional elements (the 2nd bridge at 1'06") and produce a piece of music from the ground up. No AI tools were used in the production of this track.
Featured above in "British English Voice", this clip also deserves to sit within "Content Production & Music" as it showcases Dan's talents not only as a voice artist, but a writer, audio producer, video producer, sound and motion graphics designer, musical arranger, music producer and composer. Featuring Dan's arrangement for Doctor Who's 60th, "Doctor Who Theme 60".
All videos in this section were produced by Dan Akers with some client-owned content. Commercial spots on the Audio Production Reel were created by Dan with some client-owned content on Bird's Eye and Sandals. Use of Generative AI: In the Subway Abandoman clip, video of Rob Broderick rapping was made possible with an AI avatar created with a still photograph in Descript using a stock voice which was then manually lip-synced to his original performance. Descript's Eye Contact tool was also used on the TM Forum Catalysts project to re-focus wandering eyes back onto the camera. Danmade Studios strives to use AI only as a creative tool. Generative AI is used only where it would be impossible to create specific content or where budgets do not allow for the hiring of performers, musicians or other creatives. Please, where possible, #hirehuman.
